Conference to focus on restorative justice in Victoria, Australia, May 14, 2008, at RMIT University in Melbourne

The Victorian Association for Restorative Justice will host a one-day conference entitled "Bringing Justice and Community Together," May 14, 2008, at RMIT University in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The conference will highlight recent developments in the theory and practice of restorative justice and will profile leading researchers and practitioners with a special emphasis on Victorian projects. The conference is an opportunity for existing restorative practitioners, researchers and students to come together in a sharing of ideas as well as for those with a curiosity about restorative practices to learn more about what is happening in the field both in Victoria and internationally.

Victims and Mediation Seminar to be held July 14-15, 2008, in Lisbon, Portugal

The Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV) will hold a Victims and Mediation Seminar on July 14-15, 2008, in Lisbon, Portugal. Restorative justice conference set for September 17-19, 2008, at the University of Tromsø, Norway

"Restoring Justice: Exploring Methodological and Theoretical Challenges" is the theme of a conference to be held September 17-19, 2008, at the Centre for Peace Studies at the University of Tromsø, Norway. The conference is held in collaboration with the Tampere Peace Research Institute, Finland. The conference will address the issues of theories and methodologies in peace and conflict studies and peace education, through the lens of restorative justice, as a means to solve civil and criminal conflicts at individual, national and international levels.

10th IIRP conference, November 7-9, 2007, in Budapest, Hungary

About 350 participants from 18 countries attended the IIRP's 2007 conference in Budapest, Hungary, on November 7-9, 2007. This interdisciplinary conference provided an international perspective on restorative practices theory and practice in a variety of settings, from education to social welfare to criminal justice.
