The conference, titled “Building Alliances Among Practitioners, Policy-Makers & Scholars,” was co-sponsored by the IIRP and the Nova Scotia Restorative Justice Community University Research Alliance (NSRJ-CURA). NSRJ is among the most comprehensive restorative justice programs in the world. NSRJ’s work and the research of the NSRJ-CURA is being featured at the conference, in addition to a wide range of topics related to restorative practices.

The conference included plenary sessions, panels, circle discussions, films about restorative practices and more than 100 breakout sessions on a wide variety of topics by presenters from a dozen countries.

World-renowned criminologist John Braithwaite gave the keynote address. John is perhaps best known for his book Crime, Shame and Reintegration and his work on responsive regulation and restorative justice.

The 7th biennial Conference of the European Forum for Restorative Justice, Connecting people - Linking Victims, Offenders and Community, is June 14-16 2012 in Helsinki, Finland.

The Second International Congress on Mediation & Restorative Justice meets in Lisbon, Portugal, October 20-22, 2011.
