Major U.K. Newspaper Publishes Piece on Restorative Justice (December 17, 2004)

The Observer has published an article about restorative justice with adult offenders. Author Mary Riddell provides firsthand coverage of a restorative justice conference, held in prison, between an offender and victim and their supporters. She also reports on the Justice Research Consortium (JRC), a British-government funded program bringing together crime justice professionals and police chiefs to test restorative justice as a strategy to reduce crime. The article quotes, among others, JRC chairman Sir Charles Pollard, former chief constable of Thames Valley Police Service, who has presented at the IIRP's international conferences.
